Long time no see eh?
It’s been almost a month since I’ve posted on here, and boy have I missed it. Seeing as I’ve been gone a while I thought I’d post a chatty, all over the place update for you all.
So… Where do I begin.
Following my post ‘Stuck in a Rut’ where I spoke about being lost career and education wise, I found a full-time job and then 2 weeks later quit said ‘full-time job’. I know, I know there are people out there who can’t find jobs and I’m here quitting after 2 measly weeks, hear me out! The job itself was a little tedious and made me wonder if dropping out of university was worth it (at this point I hadn’t officially dropped out I was testing the waters to see how I’d be without university) and truth be told, sat in that office for 9 hours a day made me realise I’m so much more than an Admin Assistant sitting at a desk replying to 300+ emails a day. I had a sort of turning point and realised I wasn’t ready to let my education slip through my fingers.
University is a privilege. There are many young people around the world who would kill to be in my position and have access to the resources and education I’ve been, basically, handed. So with this in mind, I got into contact with my tutors and came up with a viable option. I decided to request for partial time out, take some time away from my studies to refocus and refresh my mind so I can come back full force and complete my degree like I intended to when I initially enrolled. Many people in my position don’t realise that this is an option. Instead of dropping your entire degree, sometimes there may be other ways to remove yourself from the stresses and headaches to take some time out and focus on you. At the end of the day our health and well-being is what is most important.
Skipping past the whole university debacle, I decided to start a new series here on my blog. The London Series (check the post out here if you haven’t already) A series where I’ll be showcasing London’s finest moments and convincing you all why it’s truly the greatest city. This also gives me an excuse to wander around my home town taking pictures, trying new foods and attending events, all in the name of blogging!
Another reason I’ve been a bit MIA on the whole blog scene is because I took a 2 week trip with my family to Saudi Arabia, where my days consisted of peace and prayers (and also we had little to no wifi, hence the missing in action) However, if anyone would like a more in-depth post about my trip let me know. But for now I’ll share with you some photos from my trip.
One final thing I’d like to update you all on… My fitness journey. As of recently, I joined my local gym and have really thrown myself into the whole fitness thing. Typically, I’ve always had an issue with my weight. Not because I’m over or under weight but I’ve just never been happy with where I’m at. So I decided to change that. Not only have I begun working out, slowly but surely I’m making lifestyle changes to help me become, well, a better me! Whether it be, sleeping earlier and waking up earlier, eating more home cooked meals or even being wary of the kind of foods I’m consuming. Little changes in my everyday life have been making a greater impact and I’m really excited to see bigger results as I continue on down this path. Maybe I could post some blog posts about this journey once I’ve passed the initial stages. Let me know if there’s anything you’d like to read!
